![]() After a certain number episodes, talking scenes became repetitive. There were many scenes where I had the urge to fast forward. I think maybe they were aiming for a slow paced and moody drama. The actresses playing Ming He and Xiao Tai were just angry, childish, and sad all the time. The supporting cast were all decent but were just that, supporting cast. Shu Jingrong had a bit more emotion and a bit more range but seemed pretty stiff throughout as well. He portrayed most of his expressions with his eyes and ended up just switching between two or three types of gazes. Yi Qing seemed to always have a sick and expressionless look. Probably the most change in a character was from Huang Quan. The same things seem to happen over and over again and there was barely any character development. The acting was underwhelming and I couldn’t really get into any character. My main gripes about this show were how slow everything had to be and also how nonsensical the story got all the time. The music, costume design, and sound effects were also great complements to the overall drama. I think they really tried but in the end I felt disappointed. Listening Snow Tower didn’t really do it for me. As you may know from all my reviews in the past, I am a huge fan of a strong heroine. The story also started out on an interesting note. The slow mo martial art shots of the fighters flying through the air and rain were artistic masterpieces. It definitely excelled in cinematography and set design. I really loved how this drama started out. Will the Listening Snow Tower prevail in it’s fight to destroy the Blood Moon sect once and for all? Will Yi Qing ever meet his mother again, whom is imprisoned by the leader of the Blood Moon sect? Will Jingrong and Yi Qing’s love ever bloom? Shu Jingrong and Yi Qing’s lives once again intersect, eventually leading to Shu Jingrong joining the Listening Snow Tower. Once again the Listening Snow Tower tries to regain its righteous prominence and destroy the Blood Moon sect. Yi Qing returns to the Listening Snow Tower after spending years in training and rehabilitation of his weak body. The Listening Snow Tower, a pillar of righteousness throughout the land, is also wrought with internal strife and diminished strength. Years later, the Blood Moon sect once again has a great revival, its influence reaching far into the martial world causing evil and corruption. It is with the kindness of Yi Qing and Jingrong’s future master, Bai Dai, that she eventually joins the Sand Valley and becomes the third disciple. Now an orphan, Shu Jingrong mourns the loss of her father and loses the will to live. Yi Qing’s father, the leader of the Listening Snow Tower, comes a moment too late and Shu Jingrong’s father kills himself to prevent himself from hurting his daughter. At the beginning of the story, Shu Jingrong’s father is attacked by the leader of the Blood Moon sect and struck with a dangerous poison that causes him to lose control of himself. Shu Jingrong is the daughter of an expert swordsman, who also happens to be the wielder of the infamous demon’s sword. I also plan on watching Itaewon Class soon, I hope it lives up to the hype.Huangyang Tian Tian as young Shu Jingrong Oh CLOY was amazing! The cinematography and ost supplemented it so well. If The Woodlands Has Something To Say (Wen Qing theme) Do Not Complain (Song Ireine, Wang Dylan) My playlist is like 50% cdrama osts, 40% kdrama osts lmao, here’s my favorite cdrama osts:Įternal Love / Ten Miles of Peach Blossom: On the more upbeat side Rise from Scumbag System makes me feel so energized and Oh, My emperor's song Fall into the sea of love is so so cute and peppy.Īh, I’ve been waiting for a thread like this. Definitely a very soothing, lullaby like song. I've only watched clips of the show as of now, but this song is something you could sleep to. One more I absolutely love is You'll be alright from Age of Youth. The main theme song is so good, but my favorite would be Yan Li's song Yi Nan Ping. The Untamed also has such a beautiful OST. I listen to a lot of them on repeat on a weekly basis. This might actually be one of my favorite song of all time.Īnother thing is, I think Long Ballad also has one of the most solid OST for a cdrama. ![]() The voice, the music and especially the lyrics make you wish you were in love, the kind of strong and quiet love that transcends time. The second one is Cocoon from Long Ballad. Looking back now, I realised the song actually made me fall in love and appreciate the show. ![]() I didn't think much of the story while I was watching it and even dropped the show in between for months before finally finishing it. Three inches from Heaven from Bu Bu Jing Xin (Scarlet Heart) is one of the most saddest, but beautiful cdrama songs I've ever heard.
